Purpose

In June 2021, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) Mayor and Commission identified a need and allocated funding to investigate potential environmental concerns in the area of Pittard and Dunlap Roads.  

The nature and extent of the concern was not defined at that time. As a result, ACCGov staff compiled historical data from the ACC Landfill and provided an overview of historical groundwater issues along with corrective measures implemented to remediate the contaminated plume.
