Joe Dunlop has 18 years of experience in the recycling world. Prior to joining Athens-Clarke County in 2012, he worked as the State Recycling Coordinator, helping local governments, businesses and individuals with recycling issues. He and his family moved to Athens in 2011, because they love the area.
Chris Griffin has been with Athens-Clarke County for 15 years. He presently manages all HHW. Chris supervises the new Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) where him and two part-time employees, collect various materials that are deemed "hard to recycle".
Mason Towe was hired as Program Education Specialist in March 2017. Mason graduated from The University of Georgia with degrees in economics and sociology in December 2016. While attending university, Mason served as a student intern with ACC Recycling Division, as well as the Zero Waste Team Coordinator for the UGA Office of Sustainability.
Denise Plemmons joins the Recycling Division from the Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Department where she worked with local businesses and helped attract new business to Athens. Denise is passionate about reducing our waste in Athens and is committed to help our businesses do their part in helping us reach our waste reduction goals. She serves on the board for the College Factory and is the Community Service Chair for LEAD Athens Alumni. Denise graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Chemistry.
