For ACC Solid Waste Customers Only:
2025 Fourth of July Holiday Schedule
- The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, garbage, recycling, and leaf & limb collections on Friday July 4th, 2025, in recognition of the Fourth of July Holiday.
- If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your pick-up schedule will be as follows: Monday will be collected on Monday. Tuesday will be collected on Tuesday. Wednesday will be collected on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be collected on Thursday. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick-up day. We will resume our normal pick-up schedule on Monday, July 7th, 2025.
- If you have Commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District your pick-up will be on regular schedule.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays - New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
