Great American Cleanup

What Makes Athens Beautiful? You do!

Every year, in honor of GreenFest and Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful (KACCB) challenges Athenians to get outside and make their town beautiful!

This year's event is TRASHERCISE!

Let’s get beautiful Athens!

June through October 18

We challenge you to complete your own Trashercise workout (walk, walk/jog, jog, run; trail, road, or wherever!) and keep your neighborhood clean. Bring a bag, some gloves or a grabber, and cleanup your favorite exercise route. When you are done, report your cleanup online at www.accgov.com/aahcleanupreport and Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful will send you a special prize!

Reserve tools and report your cleanup online at www.keepathensbeautiful.org or contact carlos.pinto@accgov.com if you’d like to borrow a grabber or gloves or need some bags.

Adopt-A-Highway groups are challenged to complete a roadside cleanup of their adopted road.

KACCB offers Down and Dirty Cleanups for groups that are seeking a one-time service project, such as cleaning up a stretch of road, doing a planting project, scraping stickers downtown, removing litter from waterways, or any project that makes our community cleaner and more beautiful. KACCB can provide a wide variety of tools and support for a rewarding workday.

To learn more, contact KACCB at stacy.smith@accgov.com or (706) 613-3501, ext. 7872.
