2025 Indigenous People's Day Holiday Schedule
- The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, garbage, recycling, and leaf & limb collections on Monday October 13th, 2025, in recognition of the Indigenous People's Day Holiday.
- If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your pick-up schedule will be as follows: Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday. Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. Thursday and Friday will be collected on Friday. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out by the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick-up day. We will resume our normal pick-up schedule on Monday, October 20th, 2025.
- If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District pick up will be on regular schedule.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day. Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
