School Recycling Information

Since 2000, the ACC Solid Waste Department has provided trash and recycling services to all Clarke County School District (CCSD) public schools including administrative offices.

This recycling service includes the following:

Recycling in ACC Schools

In November 2011, the ACC Recycling Facility was converted to a single stream facility. This means that all local schools can now place all of their recyclables into one recycling container - no more separation.

Simply put – Single Stream recycling means that ALL recyclables can be collected mixed together in one container and collected with one truck (this does not mean trash is mixed with recyclables).

Acceptable materials to recycle can be found here - recyclable materials.

NOTE:  Athens-Clarke County private schools are eligible for all of the recycling resources, and the ACC Solid Waste Department will gladly quote trash and recycling service for any local private school.  Need collection information?  Commercial Collection Information
