Thanksgiving Day Schedule 2025
2025 Thanksgiving Day Holiday Schedule
The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, leaf and limb, garbage and recycling collections on Thursday, November 27th and Friday November 28th, 2025, in recognition of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. There will be no Leaf and Limb collection during the week of Thanksgiving.
If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your pick-up schedule will be as follows: Monday and Tuesday will be collected on Monday. Wednesday will be collected on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday will be collected on Wednesday. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick-up day. We will resume our normal pick-up schedule on Monday, December 1st, 2025.
- If you have commercial or residential services with us and are located within the Downtown District your pick-up will be on regular schedule.

The “*” means that your trash and recycling will be collected on a different day from your regularly scheduled pickup day.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.
