Along with many other beautification projects, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful administers the Adopt-A-Highway program for all county maintained roads. With approximately 67 Adopt-A-Highway groups in our county, KACCB honors the groups that routinely demonstrate their merit and comply with all the program’s established rules and requirements.
Dr. G's Creations litter-removal efforts began mid-2016 when they first adopted a challenging part of Whitehead Road between Jefferson Road and Tallassee Road. Then last year, they became responsible for cleaning-up an equally difficult 1.4 mile stretch of Cleveland Road, between Atlanta Highway and the rail road crossing. Dr. G’s Creations has consistently proven themselves a dedicated and determined AAH group that takes great pride in making a difference in their community. In 2019, they conducted four (4) litter clean-ups and, as a direct result of their efforts, 20 bags of trash and 10 bags of recyclable materials were collected, removed, and properly disposed of. Having already submitted their tool reservation requests for all their upcoming 2020 group clean-ups, it is evident that Dr. G’s will yet again have an extraordinary year and excel in helping KACCB keep Athens clean and green. It is their passion and desire to achieve that mission that makes them an especially worthy Adopt-A-Highway group.
We thank them for their dedication to the Adopt-A-Highway Program and their volunteerism in Athens-Clarke County.
