The 20th Anniversary of AthFest Educates Mural Project has been officially dedicated!! In front of a large audience on the streets of downtown Athens, Jill Helm, Director of AthFest Educates, Didi Dunphy, Program Supervisor at Lyndon House Arts Center and Mural Artist in Residence, David Hale, took the stage to thank the many people who made this amazing project a reality.

This project also published a Mural Map of Athens. You can pick up a copy around town, or download.

The Lyndon House was so very pleased to have Artist in Residence, David Hale, here at the Arts Center.

As part of the 20th Anniversary of AthFest Music & Arts Festival, Athfest Educates selected David and the Arts Center to create, design and install a new mural downtown and to design a youth program focusing on mural making and David's imagery.

The mural site is Pulaski and Washington streets, on the building housing the shop Philanthropy.

David worked with three fantastic interns, Kiran, Kalib and Mara, as well as the youth at the Arts Center.

These youth programs created 12 amazing small circular mandala murals inspired by David's drawings of patterns in nature. These beautiful pieces are installed on the Big City Bread Building on the corner of Meigs and Finley.
