Guest curated by Keith Wilson
October 10, 2023 - January 3, 2024
From curator Keith Wilson: “The Image Moves, New Film and Video Work by Athens Artists is an exhibition of artists working with the moving image in their creative practice. The work in the exhibition ranges in subject matter and topicality, but they all share a non-narrative, experimental, and personal approach to the time-based mediums of film and video. This collection of work brings together and highlight the often undervalued and too little seen moving image work created in Athens, a town more associated with other forms of art. The work in the exhibit leans into the fact that both film and video are made of a series of still images that coalesce into fleeting and fluid fragments of expression, emotion, connection, and wonder.”
Artists included in this exhibition are: AJ Aremu, Jaime Bull, Shawn Campbell, CC Calloway, Vivian Liddell, Selia Hooten, Drew Gebhardt, Katz Tepper.
