Roy G. Biv 8.2

An increasingly essential part of every day life, technology is primarily employed to improve communication and to store data. In this gallery project, technology is an art-making tool integral to the artwork, not simply used for recording, storing or distributing art.
Roy G. Biv 8.2 is an interactive visual art experience. Using the 8 touch screens in the gallery, visitors select colors that fill a composition projected on the gallery wall. In essence, there is no tangible art object, rather an art process resulting in a continual art experience. At set times during the interactive process, color images, arrangements and compositions are saved into a visual history. This visual history is projected on the opposite gallery wall. Visitors are invited to participate with this interactive creative process, to play with the idea of art making and to learn about color

Roy G. Biv 8.2 is made possible through the partnership with the Athens-Clarke County Library and the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS). Roy G. Biv 8.2 , conceived by curator Nancy Lakasiewicz, is an interactive visual art experience where visitors select colors to design a composition that is the projected on the wall. Rather than an art object, Roy G. Biv 8.2 is a continual art experience.

In addition, works by artists Zane Cochran and Rafaël Rozendaal will be on view.
