Project Details
Pavement Rehabilitation, provides funding to ongoing necessary preventive maintenance, road reconstruction, and rehabilitation activities for various streets and roadways throughout Athens-Clarke County. The project includes crack sealing, full depth patching, resurfacing, and roadway reconstruction with the intent to preserve and extend the life of existing roadways. All roads with widths that meet or exceed 28’ will be considered for modifications to pavement markings with the goal of improving accessibility and mobility for all transportation modes.
Project Updates
CY22 Sub-Project Details: The CY22 PMP will include resurfacing and preventative maintenance of multiple roads throughout ACC. The roadway segments were selected based on ratings performed in 2019 using a new automated rating system. Paving operations are expected to commence in August 2022.
Pittman Construction continues to work on resurfacing. The list of roadways scheduled for treatment is updated on the ACC website weekly: https://www.accgov.com/5341/Paving Videos demonstrating all forms of pavement treatments have been added to the page as well. Staff worked with SPLOST office to install new striping on Prince Avenue; this project is now in the trial phase.
