The primary responsibility of this unit is to ensure the safety and security of the Clarke County Courthouse and the people who appear and work in it. Specifically, this includes:

• Facilitate security of courthouse entrances through use of weapons-screening systems and other appropriate procedures;
• Maintaining the safe environment of the various courts (Superior, State, Magistrate, Municipal, Juvenile, and Probate courts)
• Movement and supervision of incarcerated individuals in the courthouse for judicial appearances;
• Facilitate virtual court appearances by coordination with jail personnel in the use of video-conferencing technology. 
• Deputies assigned to Court Services are also called upon to assist with the duties of the Field and Jail Units as needed.
