The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Quality Support Program’s mission is to provide Jail Residents with the resources, education and training to successfully transition back into our community.
The Reentry Quality Support (REQS) Program strives to support Jail Residents by streamlining the system to provide greater accessibility to the following at the time of their release;
- Job placement options,
- Mental Health resources,
- Housing options for the homeless,
- General Counseling,
- Veteran’s support possibilities,
- Substance Abuse resources,
- Clothing resources through our in-house Clothes Closet,
- Transportation options,
- Educational support,
- Domestic Violence resources,
- Parenting and Reconnection with child(ren).
As soon as an individual is processed into the Athens-Clarke County Jail, a REQS intake form is completed to assist staff in determining what resources will be needed upon release. The REQS Team will then begin working with various community resources to support the specific needs of that Resident.
Our primary goal is to curb recidivism among Jail Residents by helping them successfully transition back into our community upon their release.
