Project Summary
This project included development of a park master plan and design and construction of a variety of park improvements for Rocksprings Park located between Baxter Street and Columbus Avenue. The Project included an 8,100 square foot Community Center Building with multi-purpose rooms, game room, arts/crafts room, ceramics room, kiln room, office and work room space, kitchen, and storage. The playground and playground equipment were updated and the basketball courts removed and replaced with two new basketball courts. A large group area Pavilion was also constructed to accommodate picnic tables, two toilet rooms, serving area, and utility closet. On-street parking was expanded to accommodate the new Community Center Building. The community center also meets the specifications as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building.
The Athens-Clarke County SPLOST office provided full project management services including; design coordination, construction oversight, and startup supervision.
