Project 34: City of Winterville

Project Summary

This project is using funding provided to the City of Winterville for the following projects:

  • Purchase of a Public Works Department truck ($36,000)
  • Purchase of four police vehicles for an Assigned Vehicle Program ($121,000)
  • Design and construction of improvements to Pittard Park ($510,000)
  • Expansion of the sanitary sewer service into the commercial / business district of Five Points in the City of Winterville ($633,000)

In accordance with a SPLOST Intergovernmental Agreement between the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the City of Winterville, Athens-Clarke County distributes a monthly payment to the City in the amount of $18,055.55. On June 30, 2005, these payments were initiated and are to continue for an additional 71 months. The projects selected by the City of Winterville, and their designated levels of priority, are at the sole discretion of the City of Winterville. SPLOST 2005 Program management has no involvement in these projects other than the administration and recording of the allocated funding and payment process.
