The Skate and BMX park is located at Southeast Clarke Park and can be accessed from the main parking area at 4440 Lexington Road. Designed to accommodate both skateboards and BMX bikes, the 14,000 square foot facility was funded by SPLOST 2000 and a $10,000 donation from the Tony Hawk Foundation.
A series of bowls and ramps including a clam-shell and a 13-foot deep bowl dominate about two-thirds of the facility providing a wide range of opportunity and enough space for multiple users to play simultaneously. A street course fills the remaining space with ramps, grinding edges, rails, steps, and other unique features. The skate park is constructed entirely of either poured-in-place concrete or shotcrete and has steel coping around the edges for grinding.
