River Access at Ben Burton Park

Non-motorized small water craft are allowed on the Middle Oconee River at Ben Burton Park. The boat launch, built by generous donations from the Riverview Foundation and the Upper Oconee Watershed Network, provides access to the Middle Oconee River. Motorized vehicles are PROHIBITED at all times on the river. All Georgia Boating Regulations must be observed on the river.

The boat launch is the first in a series of access points that will eventually comprise the Oconee Rivers Water Trails, a system of water trails on the 39.5 miles of the Middle and North Oconee Rivers that flow through Athens-Clarke County.

For more information on boating on the Middle Oconee River, call 706-613-3801.
