Project Summary: This project is to install a new river crossing for the Upper North Oconee West trunk within the North Oconee WRF sewer basin. This project will increase the flow capacity of the collection system servicing the downtown area by increasing pipe size and providing a direct conduit to the Upper North Oconee East trunk line on the opposite side of the North Oconee River.

How this benefits Athens' residents: The sewer river crossing provides sewer capacity to the downtown area. It also protects Athens rivers and streams by preventing sewer spills.
