Reclaiming Your Impounded Pet

Each day, Athens-Clarke County Animal Services responds to a number of calls regarding dogs and cats. To ensure the safety of the public and of these animals, we sometimes impound these pets and hold them at our facility. If your pet is lost, please call Animal Services at 706-613-3540 or come by the facility. If your pet is not here, we can take a lost pet report so we can contact you if we get further information.

Fees

Please see below for common costs associated with reclaiming an animal. The costs below are estimated costs and there may be additional Veterinary costs associated with your animal. There may also be additional fees for violations of the Athens-Clarke County Animal Services Ordinances. We can give you an estimate over the phone however this is just an estimate and you will need to come to the facility to finalize the reclaim process.
