Athens Area Democratic Socialists of America 

Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful administers the county’s Adopt-A-Highway program across all its county-maintained roads. With 66 active Adopt-A-Highway groups in the program, each year KACCB honors one group for routinely demonstrating their merit and complying with all the program’s established rules and requirements.

This year KACCB would like to recognize the Athens Area Democratic Socialists of America as the 2024 Adopt-A-Highway group of the year!  Since joining the program in early 2023 the Athens Area Democratic Socialists of America have consistently conducted litter clean-ups along Vine Street and Nellie B Avenue. As a result of the 15 clean-ups that they’ve conducted over the last two years, they’ve collected an impressive 55 bags of trash and recyclables and dedicated 240 volunteer hours to the cause.

We hope they serve as a great role model for other organizations interested in making long-term contributions to the community through KACCB’s Adopt-A-Highway program.
