Nonprofit Capacity Building Program

Introduction

ACCGov’s Housing and Community Development (HCD) Department is excited to announce the release of an RFP for its new program: Cultivating Nonprofit Capacity in Athens (CNCAthens). CNCAthens is a collaborative learning opportunity involving HCD staff, external experts in NPO management and operations, and local nonprofit leaders. The 12-month program will provide concrete skills to help nonprofits fulfill their missions and enhance services to the Athens community. CNC Athens will also prepare Nonprofit Organizations (NPOs) to be more competitive for additional funding opportunities!

Five (5) eligible local nonprofits will be selected to participate in the program, comprised of ongoing organizational assessments, six (6) learning modules, personalized technical assistance, networking opportunities, and a capstone project designed to increase NPOs’ sustained capacity. Each nonprofit selected for this program will also receive a $40,000 Operational grant.

Interested applicants who are looking to grow their nonprofit and achieve additional success are encourage to apply between September 22, 2023 and the October 23, 2023 deadline.

This program stems from ACCGov’s desire to support nonprofits in Athens-Clarke County that have experienced negative economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is funded through American Rescue Plan Act funding.

Interested parties are invited to participate in a technical assistance webinar on September 27, 2023 at 2 p.m. to learn more about this opportunity. Webinar details, updates and more information are available at accgov.com/hcd. If you have any questions, please reach out to Raine Cox or Yashu Kavalakuntla at raine.cox@accgov.com or yashaswini.kavalakuntla@accgov.com respectively, or call HCD at 706-613-3155.
