Project Statement

This project will provide for capital improvements for the repair, upgrade, and/or replacement of failed or failing stormwater pipes within the transportation related stormwater systems on or in the vicinity of Main Street in Winterville. Depending upon actual costs and funding availability, the improvements may include, but are not limited to, stormwater improvements such as: addition of inlets, repair or replacement of curb and gutter, additional piping, and/or any necessary repair and repaving associated with the improvements. To the extent allowed by law, budgeted project funds may be used as matching funds for leveraging grant opportunities.  Additionally, to the extent allowed by law, other funding sources, including, but not limited to, grants, may be utilized to offset and/or reduce the project budget. Any unspent project funds that accrue as a result of the receipt of grants or other funding sources may be assigned to other approved TSPLOST projects.

Project Update

A project kick-off meeting with the User Group, including a site walk, was conducted on May 26, 2023. The User Group has selected a design professional to complete the design and assist with phasing of construction if necessary. On January 2, 2024 the Proposed Project Concept was presented to the Winterville Commission for informational purposes. On January 9, 2024 the Proposed Project Concept was presented to ACCGov Mayor and Commission in a Work Session. The Proposed Project Concept is scheduled for approval consideration by ACCGov Mayor and Commission at the regularly scheduled Mayor and Commission meeting on February 6, 2024.
