26 - 4 Pavement Improvements

Project Details

Expenses are associated with replacement and/or upgrades to pavement surfaces. These efforts include crack & chip seal, pavement overlay, and full depth pavement replacement depending on the existing pavement degradation and roadway classification. On November 1, 2011, the Mayor and Commission approved the initial SPLOST 2011 Program Implementation Schedule identifying the annual funding from the SPLOST 2011 Project 26 to support the annual Pavement Management Program in conjunction with annual appropriations from the ACCGOV General Fund and the GDOT Local Maintenance Improvement Grant (LMIG). The annual PMP work plan is approved by Mayor and Commission considering all three funding sources identified.

Project Updates

The CY21 PMP will include resurfacing and preventative maintenance of multiple roads throughout ACC. The roadway segments were selected based on ratings performed in 2019 using a new automated rating system. The contractor began preventative maintenance work in early July 2021. Regular updates to paving schedules are being provided to the public on the ACC website and on several social media outlets.
