Sandy Creek Park is governed by the ordinances of Athens-Clarke County. General park rules are listed below. Facility-specific rules are posted at facilities and on the associated webpages. Park patrons are responsible for knowing and following all ordinances and park rules and regulations. Anyone violating these rules may be removed.
General Park Rules
Patrons remaining after posted park closing time will be ticketed to exit
Automobiles must remain on pavement Park in designated spaces only
Pick up after yourself
No smoking
No alcohol, except by permit
No amplified sound, except by permit
Pick up after pet
Pets must be on leash, except in Dog Parks
Bicycles must remain on paved roads No bicycles on trails
Stay on trails
Do not feed wildlife
No plant removal
Fires prohibited, except in provided grills, fireplaces, and fire pits.
Permits are required for special events, commercial activities, tents, and organized sports. Patrons may be asked to leave to accommodate programming, special events, or maintenance activities. All outdoor facilities are closed when thunder can be heard or lightning can be seen.
