Sandy Creek Park is governed by the ordinances of Athens-Clarke County. General park rules are listed below. Facility-specific rules are posted at facilities and on the associated webpages. Park patrons are responsible for knowing and following all ordinances and park rules and regulations. Anyone violating these rules may be removed.

Permits are required for special events, commercial activities, tents, and organized sports.
Patrons may be asked to leave to accommodate programming, special events, or maintenance activities.
All outdoor facilities are closed when thunder can be heard or lightning can be seen.
