School and Group Program Guide

Sandy Creek Nature Center Offers Unique Educational Opportunities! Click on the program guide image to learn about our school and group programs.

 To register your group for a program, call the nature center at 706-613-3615. Don't have time to leave your classroom to schedule your program? You can fill out our registration form and then E-mail it back to us. A deposit of the minimum charge is required within two weeks of scheduling a program. 

All SCNC Programs:

  • are interactive and hands-on
  • can be tailored to fit your grades and needs
  • meet Georgia Standards of Excellence 
  • have indoor and outdoor components, so please have students dress appropriately for the weather

 Field Study Programs

  • Location: at Sandy Creek Nature Center
  • Dates: Tuesdays through Fridays year-round. Call for availability.
  • Times: 2 hour program.
  • Number of Students: Up to 80 students per day.
  • Cost: $3/ACC student or $5/Non-ACC student.
  • Ages: Pre-k through College

Outreach Programs

  • Location: Your school or site
  • Dates: Various dates available; Tuesdays through Fridays year-round. Call for availability.
  • Times: 45 minute to 1 hour program/ class. Times to be arranged by the school (up to 5 programs per day.)
  • Number of students: Up to 30 students per class
  • Cost: $3/ACC student or $5/non-ACC student, plus travel cost of $0.62/mile if more than 40 miles round-trip. Limit 30 miles one-way.
  • Ages: Pre-K through college

Animal Encounters

Let the nature center perform an educational, live animal program at your next special event.

  • Fee: $75 per hour. If total mileage is greater than 40 miles, then an additional charge of $0.62/mile will be added. Limit 30 miles one-way.

To reserve an Animal Encounter program, or for more information, call the nature center at 706-613-3615 ext. 0. Please note: Animal Encounter programs are not offered in private residences.
Animal Encounter
