LIVE INSTRUCTION via webcam by Lyndon House Arts Center's teaching artist Toni Carlucci

In this virtual class, students will be guided step by step in drawing a face/head using a photograph.

  • Special attention toward drawing the head and face in proportion.
  • Students draw the features of the face in detail, with an "eye" toward basic anatomy.
  • Creating the illusion of form by using light, medium and dark values will be practiced in drawing the face and features.
  • The class will be taught in a very nurturing, encouraging environment with visual aids (which will be sent to students electronically).

Please note:  This program is subject to change, cancellation based on CDC and Georgia Governor guidelines as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you have questions or need assistance, please call the Arts Center at (706) 613-3623. We can help you.

August 2020

As Athens begins to look towards recovery, we are just not there yet.  Thus our fall season of classes are in the process of redesign to offer our creative community different virtual experiences. Drawing the Figure: Facial Features by Toni Carlucci has just concluded to great success.  Thus please look for more live on-line drawing with our teaching artist.  We hope as well to modify some painting and other adult art offerings to accommodate our current pandemic situation. Please stay tuned and stay well!
