Teen Media Arts Club (TMAC)  Stopmotion Variety Showcase 2020

TMAC began meeting in January 2020 at the Arts Center.  Then, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this program stopped meeting in person, thus March through July of 2020 TMAC, instead of physically gathering with a pizza party at the Arts Center, they have been meeting via WebEx and working collaboratively on this animation showcase.

This video compilation consists of 5 parts created by 7 kids. They edited it together on Premier Pro via WebEx overseen by our very special teaching artist and club mentor Travis Ward.

Travis Ward is an experienced Director of Photography based in Athens, Georgia with a demonstrated history of working in the photography and video industry. Skilled in video production, editing, photography, aerial photography, advertising, and camera operation.
This program exists, in part, by generous support from AthFest Educates to help bring technology and the arts to young people in Athens.
Thank you to Peran Van Dijk for making music for us.

After careful consideration, the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department announces the cancellation of all summer camps scheduled for the month of July. The Department cancelled all June camps earlier in the spring.

Due to the recent CDC and Governor Kemp’s guidelines, Leisure Services Department determined that summer camps would not be able to take place while adhering to these important requirements. Following the necessary requirements would significantly reduce the number of campers and hinder a quality camp experience. The health and well-being of campers, staff, and the overall community was paramount in this decision.

All those who registered will receive a 100% refund. Due to the high volume of registrations, please allow 6-8 weeks to process refunds. All refunds will be in the form of a check mailed to the address on file in the online registration system. Parents should login to their accounts at and make sure their address is current.

Parks are available for self-directed use and a complete list is available at . The Department will continue to offer a selection of virtual programs including arts, recreation, sports, and others. These programs are available online at .

The Department currently plans to open pools and splash pads on Friday, July 3, 2020. This date has been identified with anticipation that COVID-19 conditions continue to improve.
