Art Classes

The Lyndon House Arts Center offers a diverse selection of art classes for youth, from age 4 and up, and adults with any level of experience. Make art a part of your week, every week!

This week we have special guest teaching artists Sam Stabler and Brittainy Lauback working with youth in the two week Fine Art Intensive.

Brittainy Lauback is an artist working in Athens. She captures the vulnerability of people and things in both in their natural environment and also within more controlled, orchestrated set-ups. Brittainy has taught photography and graphic design at UGA and Piedmont College. She is preparing for a fall exhibition at the Ogdon Museum in New Orleans.

Georgia-born and based artist Samuel Stabler is known for his contemporary take on Old Master paintings. The artist recreates these masterworks in highly detailed pen-and-ink drawings, which he then obscures with streaks of neon yellow, adding a contemporary update to centuries-old masterpieces. Sourcing images from the internet, he also creates meticulous cut-outs, transforming once-familiar subjects into abstract webs of line and contour.

Please note:  Art Classes and Workshops are available for viewing starting July 20.  ACC registration begins 9am on Saturday August 4.  Outside ACC, registration begins at Noon on Monday August 6th.
