Sub-Project 8: Solar Energy System - ACC Library

Project Details

 The proposed Project Concept for Sub-Project 8 is for the installation of solar energy system at the Athens-Clarke County Library at 2555 Baxter Street.  The installation will cost up to $280,000; of that $140,000 is proposed to be funded by the SPLOST 2011 Project 23 Energy Sustainability Program and $140,000 will be funded by the Georgia Public Libraries MRR Grant.   

Project Updates

The Project concept was approved by M&C on April 6, 2021.  On-call solar contracts were awarded in September 2023 along with the award to Solar Sun World for the ACC Library Solar Installation.  Solar Sun World has begun the installation of the solar arrays at the library. Completion is scheduled for late 2024.
