Volunteer with Trails and Open Space

A Trail Ambassador is a committed volunteer that hikes, bikes, or runs trails and multi-use paths operated by Athens Clarke County, provides assistance to trail users, and works with Leisure Services staff to keep an eye on trail conditions and possible hazards. This program was created in 2018 with the financial assistance of the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission and Firefly Trail, Inc. All interested volunteers should first create a volunteer profile on GivePulse. Once the profile is created, search for the Trails and Open Space group in Athens, GA. Then, register for a Trail Ambassador orientation with Trails staff. Orientation is required prior to volunteering as a Trail Ambassador! You can browse upcoming orientation sessions below, or on the Trails and Open Space events page.
