When a customer experiences financial hardships, paying for water and sewer services may become challenging. The Public Utilities Department offers several assistance options for customers to prevent our neighbors from facing a day without water.
- Project SHARE: A program administered by The Salvation Army to provide emergency bill-payment assistance to individuals and families facing a temporary financial crisis.
- Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP): A federal program to provide bill-pay assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Georgia Rental Assistance (GRA): Administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to provide relief to GA individuals, families, and landlords whose finances were negatively impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic response. The GRA program can provide up to 18 months of rental and utility assistance paid directly to landlords and service providers on behalf of the renter.
- WaterSmart Customer Portal: An online water management tool for customers to track their water use, check and resolve leaks, find water-saving tips, and receive bill forecast notifications to avoid unexpectedly high bills.
