Voter Checklist

  1. Confirm the status of your registration at least 4 weeks prior to the date of the election. Update your registration information, such as address and name. How? Contact the Elections Office at 706-613-3150 or inquire at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do. 
  2. Know how and when to apply for an Absentee Ballot if you are unable to vote in person at your polling place on Election Day or during the Advance Voting period.
  3. Know the voter identification requirements before you attempt to vote.
  4. Know your polling place location and how to get there.
  5. Familiarize yourself with the voting device used.  Learn how the device is accessible to voters with disabilities.
  6. Learn who can assist in voting and who can receive assistance.
  7. Know what time the polls open and close; (7am until 7pm)
  8. Obtain a Sample Ballot from the Elections Office to become acquainted with candidates and other items on the ballot.  Access a sample ballot at: accgov.com/sampleballot.
  9. Consider becoming a poll worker:  We are looking for dedicated citizens who would like to assist us in the Elections process.   We need dedicated individuals who take pride in their work, detailed oriented and willing to take direction; those who are patient and enjoy working with people.  If this is you, please consider becoming an Athens-Clarke County Poll Worker.
