The Clean and Renewable Energy Plan serves as a guidebook to achieving a local, equitable clean energy transition while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 

The Plan was published in 2022 and is the direct result of the 100% Athens' and the Athens community's efforts to demonstrate to the Athens' Mayor and Commission the necessity of a clean energy transition. The 2016 Clean and Renewable Energy Resolution, 2017 Envision Athens Action Agenda, and the 2018 Athens-Clarke County Comprehensive Plan laid the foundation for the development of this clean energy plan.
