The Community Oriented Policing Unit is based in the Fairview Substation (385 Fairview Street, Athens).

The Community Outreach Division of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department is a diverse group of men and women striving to connect our department to the community that we serve. The Division proactively plans and hosts events and participates with other community groups to encourage positive interactions between the police and our citizens and visitors. Some examples of the activities and initiatives we participate in are as follows:
