Josh Edwards joined the Manager’s Office as Assistant Manager on July 22, 2019.  Prior to joining ACCGOV, he served as the Assistant Budget Director of Strategy & Performance for the City of Durham, NC.

Edwards holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s Degree from Wake Forest University.  

Prior to joining Durham in 2014, Edwards served as Senior Budget Analyst for the Town of Cary, NC. He started his public service career as a Budget Analyst in the Office of Management and Budget for Fairfax County, VA.  

From 2013 through 2017, Edwards served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Local Government Budget Association as Vice President and President.

Niki Jones joined the Manager’s Office as Assistant Manager on June 14, 2021.  He has over 17 years of local government experience in North Carolina.

Prior to joining the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County,  Jones served as the Planning Director for the Town of Wendell, NC.  He has also served as the Assistant Director of Housing and Neighborhoods at the City of Raleigh, NC and held several positions with the City of Greenville, NC including: Housing Administrator, Economic Development Project Manager, and City Planner. 

He holds a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from East Carolina University. He is a graduate of the Public Executive Leadership Academy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Government, and he is an AICP certified Planner.
