Sebastian Granados’ energetic, figurative contour drawings are a reflection of his own emotions and experiences. The subjects’ internal states, hidden by their turned faces, are expressed through bursts of color and vigorous mark-making. Inspired by the look and feel of mid-century art and design, Granados works primarily with charcoal and wax pastels purchased at the estate sale of a deceased artist. These second-hand materials are given a new life through artwork that honors the legacy of their previous owner.
Originally from Bucaramanga, Colombia and now based in Athens, GA, Granados seeks to share a part of his cultural heritage through his work, conveying the warmth and intensity of his homeland.
