Kate Kaiser is a self-taught painter based in Colbert, GA. Working primarily in oil on wood panel, she creates intimate abstract landscapes that explore space, memory, and the quiet tension between presence and absence. Her small-scale works evoke a sense of vastness and stillness through gestural, expressive brushwork. Kaiser paints intuitively, frequently using her fingers to shape forms -- close observation of the paintings’ surface sometimes reveals the subtle imprint of a fingertip. Kaiser began painting in 2020 and continues to develop a process-driven practice focused on transformation, fleeting presence, and what remains unseen. Skies, clouds, and shifting forms dissolve into abstraction, inviting reflection on memory, transformation and what, if anything, is left behind.
