For ACC Solid Waste Customers Only: 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Holiday Schedule
The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, garbage, recycling, and leaf & limb collections on Monday, January 19th, 2026 in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of downtown, your pick-up schedule will be as follows: Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday. Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. Thursday will be collected on Friday. We will resume our normal pickup schedule on Monday, January 26th, 2025. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your altered service pick-up day.
If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District, your service will be picked on the regular schedule.

Join Us for January Coffee Together: Lead-Safe & Healthy Homes
Hello,
We’re excited to invite you to our January Coffee Together session, part of the Lead-Safe & Healthy Homes Learning Series, hosted by Athens-Clarke County Government Housing & Community Development in partnership with HUD’s Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes.
This first session of the year will feature Taneisha Brooks from Historic Athens, who will present “Preservation Impact: Preserving the Past and Building the Future.” The discussion will focus on protecting older homes, preventing displacement related to home deterioration, and supporting stable, affordable housing in our community.

No Bus Service on Jan 19, MLK Day
In recognition of the MLK Day Holiday, there will be no bus service on January 19th.

Service Changes on January 12
ACC Transit will implement system changes on January 12. Routes impacted include: 5, 6, 7, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, and 27.
