Major Torin G. Jackson was raised in Hinesville, GA and is a graduate of Bradwell Institute (Tigers). He grew up in a military family as the youngest of 3 siblings. His father served for 30yrs in the United States Army and retired as a Sergeant Major. His father also served for 20yrs at the Chatham County Sheriff's Office (Savannah, GA) and retired at the rank of Captain. His mother is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University and is a retired Registered Nurse after dedicating 20yrs of her life to providing patient-centered care. One of Major Jackson's siblings is an Educator and the other serves in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Following in his father's footsteps, Major Jackson served in the United States Army Reserves for 8yrs (1995-2003) and began his law enforcement career in 2005 as a Correctional Officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant at the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center and served as the Facility Based Investigator. Major Jackson eventually transitioned to Community Corrections with the Department of Juvenile Justice and served as a H.I.T.S. Juvenile Probation Officer (High Intensity Treatment Supervision). After relocating to the Atlanta area, he continued his law enforcement career with the Atlanta City Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. Finally in 2013, Major Jackson joined the Clarke County Sheriff's Office, and in 2014 he became a certified peace officer graduate of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (Athens, GA).

In 2025, while serving at the rank of Captain, Major Jackson was appointed to the rank of Major by Sheriff John Q. Williams. Major Jackson has served in the Clarke County Sheriff's Office as a Classification Officer, Background Investigator, Advisor for the Sheriff's Explorer Program, D.A.R.E. Officer, Investigator in the Office of Professional Standards, and a General Instructor. Major Jackson received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Reinhardt University (Waleska, GA) and is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. where their motto is "Culture for Service and Service for Humanity". He also serves as the Area 1 Representative for the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. Major Jackson believes he is called to serve and has dedicated his life to public service.
