Professional Experience: Will has been with the Athens Solicitor’s Office since 2010, spending five years as the VAWA-funded domestic violence prosecutor, two years as a DUI prosecutor, and six years as the Chief Assistant Solicitor. Since 2017, he has represented the office in three treatment courts--Veterans’ Court, Mental Health Court (TAC), and misdemeanor DUI/Drug Court. Prior to his time with the Solicitor’s Office, he spent a year as a staff attorney for a Superior Court Judge and two years as an Assistant Public Defender in Macon, Georgia.
Civic & Community Experience: Will has served as co-chair of the Western Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force and chair of the Circuit’s DUI Task Force. He is currently a board member with Family Counseling Services, a local nonprofit, and is active in Rotary.
Education: Will graduated in 2001 from LSU with a B.A. in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology. He earned his J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2007.
Personal: A native of Louisiana, Will has lived in Georgia since 2004 and has been a resident of Athens since 2010. He, his wife, and two daughters enjoy cycling around Athens on the weekends.
