"The Revolutionists" at the Morton TheatreThe University of Georgia Department of Theatre and Film presents "The Revolutionists" by Lauren Gunderson. This play is a bold, fast-paced comedy that reimagines four remarkable women navigating the chaos of the French Revolution. With sharp wit and modern flair, the play brings together playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle as they confront questions of art, activism, and legacy. Exploring the intersection of gender, power, and social justice, Gunderson’s play asks whether art can truly change the world and serves as a tribute to the resilience of women who dare defy expectations. The Revolutionists is an inspiring piece of theatre that celebrates the spirit of revolution — and the women who spark it. Show dates are Thursday, September 25 - Friday, September 26, September 28-30, October 1- 2,and October 5 at the Morton Theatre. Admission is $21 for adults and $9 for UGA students. Show times and tickets are available online.

Looking for a Tree! The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government's Landscape Management Division is currently seeking a privately-owned tree for donation to the Athens-Clarke County community as a public Christmas tree for display in front of City Hall during December. The tree should be a cedar tree that is approximately 20 feet in diameter, approximately 25 feet tall, and symmetrical with a single trunk. The ideal candidate tree would be one that will need to be removed at some point in the future by the property owner due to its location, size, and other factor. Landscape Management will evaluate trees and handle tree removal and transportation at no cost to the owner. Potential donors should contact the Landscape Management Division of the Central Services Department at 706-613-3561 before Friday, November 28. The tree will be cut down on Monday, December 1.
