Free Gardening Class Series

Full Description

From February through November, Athens-Clarke County Extension is holding a free gardening class each month. Taught by Master Gardener Extension Volunteers, these classes take place in the auditorium of the Athens-Clarke County Library (2025 Baxter St.) from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. 

Intended for gardeners of all experience and skill levels, the monthly classes will cover a variety of topics such as seasonal vegetable gardening, composting, beekeeping, and more. Registration is required.

The July 17th gardening class will focus on herb gardening.  Topics to be addressed in this session includes container gardening, harvesting, and preservation of herbs.  Please register by Tuesday, July 16. 

The August 7th gardening class will focus on fall vegetable gardening.  We'll cover general vegetable gardening guidelines for our area, which vegetables are best suited for our fall weather, when to plant, and maintaining your fall garden.  Please register by Tuesday, August 6,
