Captain Hodges began his career with the Clarke County Sheriff's Office (C.C.S.O.) in 1989 as a deputy with the Clarke County Jail after serving in the United States Army Military Police. In 1991 Hodges was assigned to the Jail Transition Team to help develop policies associated with the temporary housing facilities at the jail. After completion of the temporary housing facility, he was assigned as the medical transport deputy for the jail. In 1994 he was promoted to Sergeant as a transition team member. He also created the first website for the C.C.S.O. in 1994. In 1995 he was assigned to develop the internal affairs unit for the C.C.S.O. where he worked as supervisor. In 2001 he was assigned as a Jail Shift Sergeant managing the security at the jail working with staff and inmates. In 2003 he was voted as Sworn Employee of the Year and was nominated for the Governor's Public Safety Award under the category for life saving. In 2004 he was assigned to the certification unit assigned to the Administrative Section. The Clarke County Sheriff's Office received it's first State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification in 2007 with the help of all agency team members. In 2010 the Clarke County Sheriff's Office Team was awarded the CALEA Recognition Award. In 2011 Hodges was promoted to Lieutenant as the Jail Support Unit Assistant Commander. In 2014 he was promoted to Captain and Administrative Section Commander. He was responsible for Internal Affairs, Professional Standards and Training. On December 2, 2018, he was assigned to the jail as Support Section Commander. Captain Hodges serves as the Public Information Officer for the Sheriff's Office.

Captain Hodges is married with one son. He is active in the community and his church.
