Frank Woods has over 25 years of experience in law enforcement. He started his career as a deputy in the Gwinnett County Jail in 1994. Since that time, he has been assigned to a variety of departments within the agency including jail operations, SWAT, maintenance, special programs (including re-entry services), and training. He retired from the agency in 2021 with the rank of Major and title of Assistant Jail Commander. His vast experience has allowed for a better understanding of the challenges facing each department within an agency. He understands the importance of providing support to employees of the agency as well as members of the community. He is solution focused and progressive with a strong belief in quality leadership. He has extensive education in the area of leadership and has been fortunate enough to share his knowledge base with others through various training outlets including the Georgia Jail Association.
He currently serves as the Chief of Jail Operations with the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.
