As the A-Corps program Crew Leader, Jesus assists in the development and supervision of community projects involving land management and construction as well as career exploration and leadership training activities for the A-Corps Crew. Jesus’ mission as the A-Corps Crew Leader is to help create innovative ideas for community resources, improve community services, and engage in the holistic development of Athens-Clarke County.
Jesus holds a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Georgia (UGA) and an associate's degree in social science from the State University of New York at Morrisville.
During the last ten years, Jesus worked in restaurant and food services as a Dining Commons Manager at UGA. In 2016, he was awarded “Manager of the Year” for his leadership and managerial excellence at the Joe Frank Harris Commons, which was named the year’s busiest restaurant in the state of Georgia. The following year, Jesus received the 2017 Circle of Excellence Award for the personal connections and relationships he helped establish between dining hall staff and UGA.
Jesus has also contributed to developing youth in the Athens community since 2005, volunteering and mentoring youth in Athens-Clarke County and Oconee County as a baseball, softball, and basketball coach. Jesus has lived in the Athens area for the past fifteen years and hopes to further participate in the development and future of the Athens community and its residents.
