Future Land Use Plan on Agenda for Adoption by Mayor & Commission
The Planning Commission has recommended the adoption of a new Future Land Use Plan by the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission.
It will be discussed at the Agenda Setting Session on June 19 and considered at a public hearing during the Regular Session on July 3 in City Hall. The full agendas for these meetings is available online as of the Friday before the Tuesday meeting.
The Comprehensive Plan was strategically scheduled to commence in cooperation with Envision Athens, a similar study presently underway. Envision Athens takes a broader approach to community and economic development, while the Comprehensive Plan has set criteria that must be addressed in hopes of providing a collective outline for achieving initiatives highlighted in the plan.
2018 Comprehensive Plan Update The next informational and public comment session of the 2018 Update will take place at the July 6th Planning Commission meeting, 7:00 PM in the Planning Department Auditorium. Details about the time and location are available here.
