  1. KACCB Litter Index

    June 1, 2022, 8:00 AM - July 24, 2022, 5:00 PM

Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful is excited to partner with UGA's Debris Tracker for this year's Litter Index. To participate, volunteers should track items using the Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful +UGA list between June 1 and July 24, 2022. The Debris Tracker app can provide valuable information to those in charge of fighting litter and can help local governments effectively manage resources and create policies to keep litter off our streets and out of our waterways. Having many eyes on all areas of Athens will be essential for understanding the issue and creating solutions for a cleaner and more beautiful community. During the Litter Index, we are asking volunteers to walk and collect litter and data for 100 meters or for 20 minutes. Go to to see our list of targeted sites and download maps.. 2. Cover Your Load Awareness Week

    June 5, 2022 - June 11, 2022

Trucks traveling with uncovered loads contribute to littered roadways and vehicle accidents. In an effort to reduce roadside litter and protect Athens residents, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful and the Litter Abatement Steering Committee will celebrate National Cover Your Load Day the week of June 5th. Partners will distribute educational materials and safety resources to raise awareness of the Georgia unsecured load laws and local litter ordinances. This effort is made possible through KACCB, and the KACCB Non-profit Board of Directors. To report littering or uncovered loads call the ACC Litter Hotline at 706-613-3506 or visit Love where you Live – cover your load.
