This annual award recognizes a community member as an environmental steward of litter prevention and abatement or community greening/beautification. The award recipient will be recognized at the annual GreenFest Award Ceremony. Nominees must be a resident of Athens-Clarke County. TRUE projects are changing the conversation about waste by re-thinking everything that comes in and out of a facility from an upstream approach and viewing every material as a resource. We are asking businesses, campuses, and communities to go beyond recycling by reducing, reusing, rethinking, and redesigning their processes. This presentation will provide an in-depth understanding of effective zero waste strategies such as the difference between a waste audit and a zero waste audit, showcase project case studies and give an overview of the TRUE Advisor professional credential. Nominate a Stormwater Steward

Each year, the Athens-Clarke County Stormwater Management Program presents the Stormwater Steward Award to an organization, business, individual, or community group that has gone above and beyond to reduce the impact of stormwater runoff on our waters through a specific project, practice, or event. Know of someone or some project that deserves to be honored? Nominate them for our 2021 Stormwater Steward Award by filling out the online application. Submissions are due by Monday, March 1.

Water Conservation Leadership Award

The Water Conservation Leadership Award recognizes an individual, business, group, or other organization that has demonstrated a commitment to protecting our water resources through water conservation. Any resident, business, group, or other organization in Athens-Clarke County is eligible to apply. The Water Conservation Leadership Award recipient will be notified of their selection by mid March 2021.The Award will be presented at the Green Life Awards Ceremony in April 2021.
