    Calling all young, budding filmmakers! We are planting the seeds of filmmaking, now just add water and watch you grow: Join the Ripple Effect Film Project by creating a short film about water. Finalists submissions will be shown at The Morton Theater on World Water Day, March 22, 2020. This year the film contest is open to Pre-K through 12th-grade filmmakers of all experience levels in Athens-Clarke County and neighboring counties. Entries can be submitted by an individual or team. DEADLINE EXTENDED! Films must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on February 15, 2020. No entry fees; cash prizes will be awarded!

For the month of February, free WaterSense labeled showerheads will be available at the following locations while supplies last: ACC Water Conservation Office 124 E. Hancock Ave, 2nd Floor M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Athens Hardware 1080 HWY US-29 M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Normal Hardware 1328 Prince Ave M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Sat, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. A WaterSense label means the product is at least 20% more water-efficient than the traditional counterpart AND performs as well or better. To earn the label, a product must meet EPA's specifications and undergo independent, third-party certification.
