This annual award recognizes a community member as an environmental steward of litter prevention and abatement or community greening/beautification. The award recipient will be recognized at the annual GreenFest Award Ceremony. Nominees must be a resident of Athens-Clarke County.   1. Call for Entries: Ripple Effect Film Project

    Calling all young, budding filmmakers! We are planting the seeds of filmmaking, now just add water and watch you grow: Join the Ripple Effect Film Project by creating a short film about water. Finalists submissions will be shown at The Morton Theater on World Water Day, March 22, 2020. This year the film contest is open to Pre-K through 12th-grade filmmakers of all experience levels in Athens-Clarke County and neighboring counties. Entries can be submitted by an individual or team. DEADLINE EXTENDED! Films must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on February 15, 2020. No entry fees; cash prizes will be awarded!

  2. 2019 Water Conservation Leadership Award

    The Water Conservation Leadership Award recognizes an individual, business, group, or other organization that has demonstrated a commitment to protecting our water resources through water efficiency and conservation. Any resident, business, group, or other organization in Athens-Clarke County is eligible. The Water Conservation Leadership Award recipient will be notified of their selection by Monday, February 10, 2020. The Award will be presented at the Green Life Expo & Awards Ceremony on February 29, 2020. Deadline for submission is January 31, 2020.
